Born in the 90s, living for tomorrow. Torie’s the name, wordplay’s my game.

A Love Story

Smitten from the start

My grandpa says I’ve been writing stories since I could hold a pencil, and who are you to tell an 80-year-old man he’s wrong?

Regardless, I have been crafting stories and weaving word tapestries for as long as I can remember.

In elementary school, I wrote about a princess in a tower who refused the prince’s “rescue” when he arrived, insisting that she and the dragon were doing just fine.

So even if his timeline is a little off, the sentiment rings true.

Hyper-focus and hyper-passion

When you love words, you tend to fall for damn near every permutation you can find. Early in life I became a voracious reader, a prolific writer, and an obsessive word-stringer-together-er.

From Supernatural and Bones fanfiction (Booth/Bones New Year’s Eve fic, I remember you well) to the high school paper and every creative writing class I could get my hands on, words and I stayed hot and heavy through my teenage years.

Mixing work and pleasure

You say tunnel-visioned, I say uniquely passionate.

I studied communications (emphases on print and online media) in college with a double major in creative writing, ensuring that whatever I did after graduation, it was either going to involve playing with words or making jokes about my creative writing degree behind a bar.

Either way, I figured the dedication was worth it. My discovery of content marketing may have saved me from spending too many years slinging drinks, but I maintain that my old fashioned can rival most.

A forever kind of love

The past 12 years have seen me write scripts, mold brand voices, craft long-form blogs and whitepapers, pen social media copy, get meticulous with web wording, and develop content in agencies and in-house settings across a bevy of industries.

In my downtime, I’m working on my queer ghost hunting novel, listening to The Assistant’s newest attempt at the English language, or devouring the latest cozy fantasy novel.

Whether I’m on or off the clock, I’m the lucky bastard that’s turned her childhood dream into her happily ever after.
